چکیده

Abstract Long-term storage of apples ( Malus x domestica , Borkh.) is increasingly taking place under Dynamic Controlled Atmosphere (DCA). The oxygen level lowered to ≤ 1 kPa O 2 and the are stored just above Lower Oxygen Limit (LOL). Low stress during controlled atmosphere can lead fermentation in if levels too low. Chlorophyll fluorescence be used detect low-oxygen at an early stage storage. currently available non-imaging systems often use minimal Fo ) parameter. In contrast, chlorophyll kinetics insufficiently described. Therefore, this study aimed gain more knowledge about response low using a imaging system. results show that kinetic curves differ aerobic conditions. fermentative conditions initiated decrease intensity upon application saturation pulses exposure actinic light. This result was made 18 °C ambient temperatures. Interestingly, curve changed before products accumulated apples. Non-photochemical quenching NPQ decreased dark phase after relaxation. Upon entering relaxation Kautsky induction, ɸPSII began increase. Under atmospheric conditions, reached values 0.81 0.76, while fermentation, ranged from 0.57 0.44.

The fluorescence decay kinetics of in vivo chlorophyll measured using low intensity excitation.

We report fluorescence lifetimes for in vivo chlorophyll a using a time-correlated single-photon counting technique with tunable dye laser excitation. The fluorescence decay of dark-adapted chlorella is almost exponential with a lifetime of 490 ps, which is independent of excitation from 570 nm to 640 nm. Chloroplasts show a two-component decay of 410 ps and approximately 1.4 ns, the proportion...

Response of chlorophyll a fluorescence, chlorophyll content, and biomass to dust accumulation stress in the medicinal plant, Plantago lanceolata L. Mehran Alavi1*, Mozafar Sharifi1 and Naser Karimi2*

In arid and semi-arid areas of the world, excessive mineral aerosol carried by air parcels is a common climatic incident with well-known environmental side effects. In this study, the role of sand-dust accumulation was investigated on various aspects of photosynthetic yield of Plantago lanceolata including chlorophyll (Chl) a, b, effective quantum yield of PSII photosystem (ФPSII), maximal quan...

Kinetics of the oxygen evolution step in plants determined from flash-induced chlorophyll a fluorescence

Photosystem II (PS II) of plants and cyanobacteria, which catalyzes the light-induced splitting of water and the release of oxygen, is the primary source of oxygen in the earth atmosphere. When activated by short light flashes, oxygen release in PS II occurs periodically with maxima after the third and the seventh flashes. Many other processes, including chlorophyll (Chl) a fluorescence, are al...

Salt Stress Change Chlorophyll Fluorescence in Mango1

This study evaluated the tolerance of mango cultivars ‘Haden’, ‘Palmer’, ‘Tommy Atkins’ and ‘Uba’ grafted on rootstock ‘Imbú’ to salt stress using chlorophyll fluorescence. Plants were grown in modified Hoagland solution containing 0, 15, 30, and 45 mmol L-1 NaCl. At 97 days the parameters of the chlorophyll fluorescence (F0, Fm, Fv, F0/Fm, Fv/Fm, Fv’/Fm’, ΦPSII = [(Fm’-Fs)/(Fm’)], D = (1Fv’/Fm...

Modelling chlorophyll fluorescence of kiwi fruit (Actinidia deliciosa).

Kiwi fruit displays chlorophyll fluorescence. A physical model was developed to reproduce the observed original fluorescence for the whole fruit, from the emission of the different parts of the kiwi fruit. The spectral distribution of fluorescence in each part of the fruit, was corrected to eliminate distortions due to light re-absorption and it was analyzed in relation to photosystem II-photos...
